Civil Defence Shelter
A civil defence shelter is a fully covered room for Singaporeans to hide in in times of an air raid. In such rooms, the walls are enhanced to withstand high
temperatures and large explosions.
Civil defence shelters are found in many areas of Singapore; some of which are located beneath a housing block of flats. Several newly built underground MRT
stations are designed to act as civil defence shelters, used in times of need.
